Terms of Service

Note: This is a plain-language policy for a pre-release service; it will be reviewed by counsel before general availability.

In plain English: Amitte is an open registry where people publish skills, agents, and MCP-server definitions for AI agents, and other people (and their agents) consume them. You sign in with GitHub. What you publish stays yours, but you let us host and distribute it. Everything in the registry is community-provided with no warranty — evaluate content before you wire it into anything that matters. Don't publish malicious content, don't abuse the service, and we can remove content or accounts that break the rules.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Amitte registry, portal, CLI, and SDK (collectively, the "Service"), operated by the Amitte project ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Amitte is a registry for AI-agent content: skills (markdown instruction artifacts), agents (agent definitions), and MCP servers (Model Context Protocol server entries). Publishers submit content through an automated review pipeline; consumers discover and fetch it via the portal, API, CLI, and SDK. The Service is currently pre-alpha: features change, data models change, and availability is best-effort.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. We authenticate via GitHub OAuth; your account is bound to the GitHub identity you sign in with. We do not see or store your GitHub password.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your GitHub credentials secure.
• Activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us promptly if you discover unauthorized use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Content Policy, or applicable law.

3. Publisher responsibilities & your content

You own what you publish. When you publish a skill, agent, or MCP-server entry, you grant Amitte a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, distribute, display, index, and serve that content through the Service. Ownership stays with you.

The content you publish is licensed to consumers under the SPDX identifier you set in the manifest (default CC-BY-4.0). You represent that:

• You own the content, or have the necessary rights to publish it.
• You have authority to license it under the terms stated.
• The content does not violate the Content Policy or third-party rights.
• Your metadata (name, description, capabilities) honestly describes what the content does.

You are responsible for the content you publish. Submissions pass through an automated review pipeline (see the Content Policy), but automated review is best-effort, not a guarantee — and it does not shift responsibility from you to us. We may remove anything that violates our policies (see Takedown Policy).

4. Consumer responsibilities

Registry content is community-provided. Before you load a skill, agent definition, or MCP server into a production agent:

• Read it. Skills are instructions that will steer your agent's behavior.
• Check the publisher's trust tier and provenance signals — they are advisory, not certifications.
• Treat third-party content as untrusted input. Sandbox, review, and test before granting it access to credentials, data, or tools.

We do not warrant that any registry content is safe, correct, or fit for purpose. You are responsible for what your agents do with content you give them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Publish content prohibited by the Content Policy — malware, prompt-injection payloads, credential-theft recipes, secrets, license-violating or deceptive content.
• Use the Service to attack, overwhelm, or abuse other systems (including the Service itself).
• Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or authority over a domain you have not verified.
• Scrape the Service in ways that circumvent rate limits or the public API.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service in a way that competes with it.

Rate limits are enforced server-side. Sustained abuse results in temporary or permanent suspension.

6. Trust tiers

Publishers carry a trust tier — unverified, verified (DNS domain proof), or official (first-party) — defined in the Governance document. Tiers are advisory signals; they do not constitute an endorsement of, or warranty for, any content.

7. Service availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". This is a pre-alpha service run by a small team: we do not guarantee uptime, error-free operation, data durability beyond stated backups, or continued availability of any feature. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that any skill, agent, or MCP server in the registry is fit for any purpose, secure, or free of defects. Automated review scores and trust-tier badges are advisory signals, not certifications. You use published content at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Amitte project, its contributors, and operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of the Service or of any content distributed through it. Aggregate liability for direct damages, if any, shall not exceed USD $100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Amitte project, its contributors, and operators from claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, following the enforcement ladder in the Content Policy where practical. Upon termination:

• Your published content remains available unless removed under the Takedown Policy or at your request.
• Your account-bound data (verified domains, credentials) is deleted within 30 days.
• The license grant for already-published content (Section 3), warranties (8), liability (9), and indemnification (10) survive termination.

You may close your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for the deletion process.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms are versioned in the public repository. We may update them; the "Last updated" date reflects the most recent change. Material changes are announced in the Changelog and, where practical, by email to active publishers. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
